An eccentric author and adventurer...
Alexandra is a fantasy author, quirky adventurer and swordfighter who's passionate about folklore, music, LARP and nature. Her most-known book is Ancient Cornish set Dissonance of Bird Song, praised as a “visceral and lyrical” page turner with “praiseworthy worldbuilding”. Alexandra's books weave enchantments of myth, magic and intrigue.
Her literary background stems from gothic fiction, which she specialised in when studying, and has since used this as a basis for her folkloric fantasy books and love of folk horror. Inspired by her adventures in wild and historic places, Alexandra's stories combine ancient curses, wild natural power with complex family dynamics.
She cares deeply about writing stories with diverse representation and focusing on characters facing impossible choices or overcoming hardships.
Growing up in London, she spent a lot of her youth dressing as a Victorian vampire and being spookily gothic in Camden before pursuing writing and a career in environmentalism.
Alexandra lives in the countryside, and enjoys cycling, walking and eating cake in the forest, except when she is at a Live Action Role Play event portraying an unhinged druid covered in mud or pretending to be a magic blacksmith.
